Applied AI
As much builder as advisor. Rarer than it should be.
Data points in one statewide waste, fraud and abuse screen covering more than 1,200 school districts, delivered to a state fiscal office.
I help lead one of Washington’s most productive AI-enabled policy shops, delivering research and technical assistance to Cabinet agencies, state agencies and the senior executives who run them.
And I’ve designed the architecture of the systems that do it: research, evidence verification, communications planning, quality control.
The standard line in AI right now is some version of “I’m doing things I couldn’t do last month!” Part of my job is figuring out what we’ll be doing next year.
The models are good and getting better. But the work isn’t the model. It’s knowing which question the decision-maker actually needs answered, and answering it before the vote.
